A friend of mine was killed in a road accident recently. I wrote a letter to his wife expressing my sympathy and offering to do anything to help her at this sad time. This is a copy of the letter.

I am writing to express my deepest sympathy and condolences regarding the recent death of your husband, husband?s name. I was shocked to hear about the accident and his consequent untimely death.

Like everyone who knew your husband I had the greatest respect for him. He was an honest and caring man who was well liked by everyone who knew him.

Most of all, I appreciate what a caring father your husband was to your two children. It is a tragedy that he has gone so soon yet no doubt in time they will think back on the many happy times he shared with them.

I should like to make myself available to give any support to you and your children at this sad time. Please contact me if there is anything, however small, that I can do to help.
