A Red Rose Changed My Life

I had just gone through a particularly messy divorce and thought that I was done with relationships forever. Yet, just 12 months on I met my soul-mate.

Early in our relationship I remember him meeting me at the airport, coyly standing at the back of the arrivals hall with his hand behind his back. He produced a single red rose and thanked me for coming into his life. This was the first time in my life anyone had ever given me flowers of any kind and I just choked.

We're married now, I couldn't be happier and I will never forget receiving my first red rose.
