A special gift

I love gifts. Especially if they are given to me by people I love. I received that kind of a gift two weeks ago.

It was 2 a.m. and I was still working. I had to finish a project on time, so I was working on my computer when I heard someone open the front door - it was my girlfriend.

I smiled because I was glad to see her, but overall was feeling tired and anxious about the project. But then my girlfriend gave me the gift.

My spirit was was lifted immediately. It was a basket filled with fruits.

"I know you are hungry", she said. "This will give you the energy you need. No coffee, no chocolate, just fruit."

"Thanks", I replied. "You and your gift changed my mood."

I appreciated that gift basket - and my girlfriend, too.
