Adios - Resignation Letter To Return To School

The following resignation letter reflects leaving a job to return to college to pursue an interest in International Taxation. It can easily be adapted to other areas of studies in colleges and universities.

Dear Mr. Sanjay;

This is to inform you that I am resigning from my position as Senior Consultant with XYX India Ltd December 23, 2009. I would serve the notice period of two months and would like to be relieved of my duties by February 23, 2009.

I am leaving the organization primarily to further my education and to that end will be enrolling in ABC College in Austria. My major course of study will be International Taxation. Still, leaving is difficult because working for XYX has been a wonderful and rewarding experience, both personally and professionally.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my coworkers (seniors, peers and juniors) for their unconditional support and guidance throughout my stint with the organization. I depart with a feeling of having grown as a professional and as an individual.

Last but not the least, please let me know who I need to transition the work at my position. I am available as and when required. I wish you and the organization success in your future endeavours.
