Interview Thank You Letter: Thank You For the Offer, But...

This Interview Thank You Letter is about a person who is ambivalent about accepting a job offer after having had a sucessfull interview. The writer all but turns down the offer. I was a little stunned by his response, especially given how hard it is to find jobs in our present day economy. Please tell me what you think after reading it.

Dear Mr. Smith,

Thank you very much for meeting with me yesterday. I think I'd be a great fit at The Pony Express, and I wanted to let you know that I was caught off-guard with the immediate job offer presented to me.

I don't think I conveyed my interest very well, and the Express is at the top of my offers list.

With that said, I do need some time to process all of my options to determine the best fit for both parties.

I have a few questions that I'd like to run by you -- I suppose the most pressing of which is "When do you need a decision from me by?"

Would there be a good time to contact you in the next few days? Please reply at your convenience and let me know.

Again, thank you for this opportunity -- I look forward to your response.

Best regards,
