Sample Character Reference. The letter below is about a Customer Service
Representative submitted by a writer, who used our template.
Here's what she had to say. "An employee of mine was not happy with my company, as she was having
difficulty adjusting to some new employees. However, she was a great employee
and I wanted nothing but the best for her.
She came to me one day and told me she had applied for a position with one of our major competitors and that she really needed a reference letter from me because she had been employed by me the longest.
Although I did not want to lose her, I was happy to oblige her. Below is the Letter of Reference I wrote for her." Here’s the letter she wrote.
Whom it May Concern,
I am writing in reference to Michelle Benny, a colleague and employee of mine. Michelle and I have worked together for 4 years as Customer Service Representatives for XYZ Cosmetics. I am currently the Customer Service Manager and oversee all of Michelle's duties.
I understand that the position Michelle is applying for will be dealing with the selling of cosmetics, which she is very qualified for, seeing as how she has been in the cosmetics industry for over 7 years; 4 of which were under my direct supervision. During that time she never missed a day of work and was never tardy.
Furthermore, Michelle is very detail oriented, has above average call times and error ratings, and has been recognized several times as employee of the month. The customers of XYZ Cosmetics have ranked her among the most liked customer service representatives. She is always willing to help other employees as well, which is how she was promoted recently.
I believe Michelle will be an asset to your company just as she has been an asset to XYZ Cosmetics. Therefore, I highly recommend her for the customer service position that was advertised. The combination of her people skills, punctuality, attention to detail, and friendly nature is something that should not be passed up.
