Loss of a Daughter

My friend's 42-year old was diagnosed with gastrointestinal cancer in November 2009. She underwent chemotherapy and fought a hard battle but died in April 2010. My friend, of course, was devastated at the loss of her only daughter. This is the letter I wrote to her:

Dear Ginny,

There are not enough words to express to you how deeply saddened I was to hear that Sally had passed on. My heart bleeds for you and I can't even begin to imagine the feeling of loss you are experiencing.

Sally was a very special, unique person who left a mark on the lives she touched. I have no doubt she is watching over you. I, along with all who were fortunate enough to have known her, will remember her forever with warm memories.

Please don't hesitate to call me if you need a shoulder. You know I am always here for you.
