My Dearest Roger

When I first met you, I thought you were a terrible person. I didn't like you at all. I fell in love with you about the 3rd time we met. You proved to me that you weren't the person I thought you were, and that's a good thing.

You asked me to marry you and I said yes, but we were both bombed out of our heads. And although we have been together for over 20 years now, and that should say a lot, we never got married. That is ok with me because what's a piece of paper.

I love you just as much today and will maybe even more tomorrow. You are the most generous, unselfish person I know and I wouldn't trade you for the world.

I have never wanted for anything and you have given me the best gift that a girl could ever ask for, your companionship. Please know that I will never leave you unless it would make you happy.

Your love,

What's A Piece Of Paper?
by: Lanard

Love, like life, has a way of unfolding in ways that don't exactly match our dreams and desires. Sounds like you've been blessed and fortunate to still be with and in love with the same man for 20 years. That in and of itself is wonderful!

Still, on a windy day if you listen closely enough you might hear ever so feintly a whispered..."but I said yes".
