Send a Post Interview Thank You Letter

Should you Send a Post Interview Thank You Letter  after interviewing for a job? Absolutely!

A future employer is specifically looking for a candidate that stands out among the rest...and what better way to prove that you are that candidate then sending a thank you letter after your interview.

Your letter should be formal and professional so as to convey that you are serious about the position and wanting to show your gratitude for the opportunity to interview for it.

Following is a sample of an after interview thank you letter template:

Dear Ms. Fields,

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for meeting with me this afternoon about the Sales Manager position within your company. It was a pleasure speaking to you and I sincerely look forward to the possibility of working with you in the future.

I feel that I am an excellent candidate for this position and hope that you agree. Please let me know if there is any further information that you may need or that may aid you in your decision-making process.

Thank you again and have a wonderful day!

Sincerely,
Your Name

An after interview thank you letter should be relatively short and simple. It is important to keep in mind that they are likely to be very busy and have several other candidates to meet with. Also, be sure to address the recipient in a formal manner (Dear Mr...Dear Ms.  Dear Dr.) and include their last name. Finally, remember to include your full name at the end so that there is no confusion about which candidate sent the letter.

Summarily, it is important to go the extra distance to establish a respectful, professional relationship with the person and company you desire to be employed by.
