Receiving a Refund of Duplicate Payment letter will make for a pleasant surprise for any customer!  After all, how often does anyone receive money

back after they have made a payment?

Usually, if you receive a letter about a payment, it’s in regard to a lost payment, or delay in payment.

Enclosed is our check in the amount of $______ which represents a refund

for your inadvertent duplicate remittance for payment of [purpose].  We

are pleased that our bookkeeping department discovered this overpayment

so quickly.
