Resignation letter - Combinaton of Happy and Sinking Feeling

Resigning from a job you love can be difficult and is even harder to do when you have a great boss who is also a mentor, friend, teacher and coach. I know because I've experienced it first hand. So has Swati, which had this to say about it in his resignation letter.


Dear Mr. Joseph,

Please accept this as my formal letter of resignation from the post of Sales Manager in "At Your Service".

Working for "At your Service" has been a wonderful experience for me. I have learnt at every step and specially from you as my immediate supervisor. I have been lucky enough to have you as my senior, mentor and guide. It is only because of the experience gained here, that I am able to grow in my career path.

I propose my last day to be 20th January, 2010 and till that day I shall be happy to assist my colleagues and juniors. I shall also fully co-operate in handing over all the matters and provide training to the person taking over my current assignment.

Once again, thanks for all the co-operation and support.
