Sample Letter of Sympathy - Encouragement For My Cousin

Sample Letter of Sympathy. A few months ago my cousin's husband died.  He had been ill for months, so my cousin was expecting his death at any time, though when it did come, it hit her hard. This is what I said in one letter to her:
 
Dear Martha;
I give you my most profound sympathy for the death of your husband John. It made me very sad to hear about his untimely passing.
 
As I have told you in the past, I was very fond of him. He was fun, compassionate and inspired many people he was involved with to be a better, more caring person; to be selfless and unselfish; to cause positive changes all around him.
 
John was truly wonderful and I will always remember him and how his positive words and advice have had a deeply positive effect on my life. I wouldn't be the person I am today without him.
 
Finally, I know you are very strong in spirit, But if you need someone to talk to, or anything else, please call or email me at any time, for any reason. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.
