Still giving me hope and comfort

My mother passed away when I was 18 years old. It was a hard time for everyone.
I have three older sisters and as the only boy it was expected that I help take care of them even though they are older. I held it together as long as I could but later, I broke down and cried.
I cried for all the things my mom would never see me do. I had just started college, she'd never see me graduate. She'd never see me get married or have kids of my own. Needless to say I was devastated.
Sympathy Gift Baskets
. The next day, after a sleepless night I received a gift basket from my co-workers. It contained the normal things...but it also had a plant, not flowers but a living plant.
Well, that plant lives on to this day. The plant is bigger now and takes up the whole basket.
Every time I look at it I get to think of my mom and it gives me a sense that she is getting to see me do all those things that I didn't want her to miss.
