When I was young, I never realized how important and significant your presence in my life would be. I always enjoyed you as my babysitter, but you were much more than that. You were a mentor, a friend, a second mom, a caregiver, and you helped to shape me into the woman I am today.

Thank you so much for all those nights that you would let me stay up late and watch that "really scary" movie.

Thank you for talking to me as if I were important and worth listening to. Thank you for giving me advice and sharing personal stories with me and relating to what I was going through.

Most of all, thank you for being there for me when my Mom was working 3rd shift. Thank you for making sure I was up for school and had a bagged lunch. I appreciate all that you did and all that you taught me.

Looking back on my childhood, I have wonderful memories of our time together. You were a wonderful babysitter and I am so grateful that you were mine.
