To Emily - My Best friend

Dear Emily; I'm probably supposed to write this heart filled letter to a boyfriend or even an Ex that I never fully got over.

However that's not the case with you because I feel that you're deserving of a love letter because friends are capable of loving friends with a different perhaps even more profound love. Which in your case I feel that we have plenty of.

It may not be a progressive love in which we expect things of each other. It's more of a forgiving love in which you share with me. We're able to confide in each other things that our boyfriends or parents would frown upon. You've been most understanding of me throughout the years about my reasons for my actions as I have been of you.

I remember when it was just us and we had to amuse ourselves over the summers and all of the wild things we would get into. When we're together we reveal certain levels of ourselves where we can be honest without worrying about how other people would think.

Because we understand each other so well I feel like we'll always be able to rely on each other. I've moved to another state and we still talk to each other and update one another on what's going on in our lives. It's almost as if we can pick back up where we left off.

For that I have to say that I love you because you are my best friend.
