Valentine's Day isn't ALWAYS on February 14th.....

My favorite Valentine's Day was the only one I've ever NOT celebrated on February 14th. My girlfriend and I had only been together a few short months when she was transferred to a new position in Denver, about 1000 miles away from where we were living at the time.

Long distance phone calls and e-mails were the rule, until I was able to visit shortly after Christmas.

The trip started out normally, although she was acting strangely as we walked by the many Valentine's Day promotions going on at stores across the land.

She kept grumbling about the commercialization of love and how it's ruined romance. I agreed with her, and our visit continued.

The next day, I went shopping while she slept in. At least, that's what I thought. When I got back to her place, the room was FILLED with Valentine's Day balloons, streamers, hangers, and just about every other kind of decoration possible. It was AMAZING!

The rest of the day she already had planned out, and we celebrated our "Valentine's Day" on January 21st.

We went out to eat, watched the Nuggets game, got massages, and had a wonderful nightcap back at the apartment. It was even more special because we were the only ones in the world celebrating "Valentine's Day" at the time.

It's the only Valentine's Day I'll never forget.
