You Aren't ExactlyWhat I Was Hoping For

You aren't what I was expecting! I wanted a man who'd buy me flowers and expensive jewelry. And I had high hopes for champagne and chocolates, as well as romantic candle-lit dinners in swanky restaurants on birthdays. I wanted a mysterious man; dark and handsome; one who'd make my breath draw short while sweeping me off my feet.

And I hate to tell you this, but you're not that man! But fortunately, you're so much more! You've taught me that there is more to life than superficial and material things like those.

The places you take me and the things you show me provide memories that will last a life time. For example, you showed me how to see the sea turtles poking their heads above the waves from our sunny vantage point on the shore and you turned me on to the sweet voice and music of Donnie Hathaway.

There is just something about you that is just not like any other man I have ever met. Your view on the world is so different, and while I do not always agree with it it is inconsequential.

Nope - you were not the man I was looking for...and thank goodness you're not!
